Flights from Tokyo

Tokyo is famed as the most populous metropolitan area in the world and, therefore, has some of the busiest airports in the world. Tokyo International Airport, popularly known as Haneda Airport, handles the majority of the domestic flights from the Greater Tokyo Area. The airport has three terminal buildings and serves over a hundred million passengers annually.

Terminals 1 and 3 provide shopping areas including duty-free shops, which feature a wide range of items for sale and Terminal 2 houses a hotel. There are regular flights from Tokyo to Okinawa departing every other hour and also some other flights connecting via Osaka, Kagoshima, and Fukuoka.

Travelling to Tokyo airport

Getting to the airport is very important to ensure you arrive in good time. Tokyo's well-ordered transport network will aid your easy movement to the airport. You can opt for the Tokyo Monorail, which involves just one transfer and you should be at the airport in about 30 minutes.

You should take the JR Yamanote or JR Keihin-Tohoku Line from the Tokyo Station, which stops at Hamamatsucho Station and transfers you to the airport. Reaching Okinawa

Okinawa holds great promise for adventure, relaxation and cultural/historical beauty. If you are visiting the area in January, you should go on a cherry blossom viewing tour at the 700-year-old Nakijin Castle at night. There is so much to do and a wide expanse of landscape to cover with over 40 inhabited islands in the area.

You can hop from one island to another, immersing yourself in the fullness of the Okinawan experience. Native Okinawan women and some men are known to have one of the longest life expectancies in the world. So, you may want to sample the longevity lunch at a restaurant in Ogimi which specializes in local cuisine.

Getting to the city center

The Naha International Airport is located in the capital of the Okinawa Prefecture. It is easy to get to the center of the Okinawan area using the Monorail. You will find the Monorail Station near the arrival entrance road. The train takes you to Shuri Station in around 27 minutes.

There are also buses outside the domestic terminal building which operates on a first come, first served basis and cannot be booked ahead. Going to Tokyo was terrible the representative to check us in was a trainee and did not have a clue what was going on. I asked for window seats and was placed in the back of the plane in the center row. By far one of the worst flight experience I have had!!!
