American Airlines is an airline born from the merger of 82 small airlines in 1930. With its roots beginning in the transportation of mail in the United States under the name American Airways Company in 1926, it was acquired by Errett Lobban Cord in 1934, was renamed as "American Air Lines" and later began flying its first passengers. Currently American Airlines is one of the main airlines in the world, both in number of passengers transported and the number of routes offered.
Its current fleet has around 1,000 aircrafts, each with integrity to comfort and making passengers’ flying experience a pleasure. Thus far, the airline will also offer fully reclinable seats on all Business Class flights departing from Spain en route to the United States of America. Other updates for passengers flying on Business Class include a more contemporary interior, direct access to cabin hallway, increased privacy and additional entertainment options. Wi-Fi will also be available on all flights to Miami (MIA), Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Chicago (ORD), operated by the Boeing 777-200 and 787 Dreamliner.
American Airlines is a founding member of the Oneworld Airline Alliance, and coordinates fares, services, and scheduling with a number of other major airlines around the world including British Airways, Finnair, and Iberia in the transatlantic market and Cathay Pacific and Japan Airlines in the transpacific market.
