eDreams: What’s the thing you love most about travel?
Alison: It’s really impossible for me to pick just one thing. I love the whole experience from the planning stages to reliving the trip back home while I’m writing and editing photos. I guess if I had to choose it would be experiencing new cultures through food. It really is the heart of a culture and a universal language.
Why do you blog?
I started blogging when I first arrived in Belgium as an expat. It was a way for me to stay in touch with people back home and to express my joys and frustrations about expat life. Over the years it grew into a way for me to share my passion for Belgium. It’s an undeservedly under promoted travel destination and I believe it has so much to offer the visitor who is willing to take the time to uncover the hidden gems. I also want to help newly arrived expats settle into life here and get the most out of their stay in Belgium.
Can you recommend 2 other travel blogs you like?
I love Married with Luggage because it’s so much more than just a travel blog. Warren and Besty are inspirational in helping people live exactly the life they want.
I also love following Sherry of Otts World for her honest portrayal of solo travel. She has a fantastic eye for photography and is always inspiring me to visit places I never would have thought of.
