Barcelona, Madrid, and London are the most popular cities
Quite often flying with low cost airlines means that the airport you fly into isn’t the closest to the city center, and many times it’s not even in the same city. This isn’t the case for our top 2 cities, Barcelona and Madrid, as Ryanair flies into the main airports BCN El Prat and MAD Barajas. But if you’re headed to the third most popular Ryanair city destination, London (STN), make sure you pay attention to the transportation options and prices as Stansted is actually 62 km from the London city center.
Barcelona (BCN): Distance from the city center – 18 km; Transportation options: Aerobus (~6 €), public bus (~2 €), train (~3 €), taxi (20 € minimum)
Madrid (MAD): Distance from the city center – 18 km; Transportation options: Metro (~5 €), “Línea Exprés bus” (~5 €), public bus (~1.50 €), train (~2.50 €), taxi (~30 €)
London (STN): Distance from the city center – 62 km; Transportation options: Terravision shuttle bus (~11 €), National Express bus (~8 €), Stansted Express train (~30 €), taxi (~55-100 €)
The summer months are the most popular – July, June, September, and August
In line with european tourism trends, the summer months are the busiest for Ryanair followed by Spring. The least popular months to travel with Ryanair are the cooler months of February, January, December, and November.
