January
The Swiss Alps
The best way to overcome post-holiday depression is to be surrounded by snow while skiing at some of the best resorts in the world! And if you don’t like to ski, you can always relax with a blanket in front of the fireplace while watching the snow fall outside.

February
Paris, France
Is there a better place to spend Valentine’s Day? A walk through Notre Dame, a coffee in Montmartre, a few hours of art in the Louvre, a romantic boat ride along the Seine on the Bateaux Mouches and finally, enjoy the scenery in the Elysian fields next to the Eiffel Tower.

March
Dublin, Ireland
If you want to go to Dublin, March is a perfect time as you can experience the St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) celebrations. Discover the city when its full of good music and even better people.

April
Wroclaw, Poland
A must-see city when you are in Poland! The historical capital of Silesia, full of young people, is especially worth seeing in the spring, when the temperature begins to climb and the city becomes greener.

May
Amsterdam, Holland (the Netherlands)
May is a perfect time to visit Amsterdam as you can visit the nearby Keukenhof gardens, where more than 7 million tulips, daffodils and hyacinths will be in bloom and open to the public to see from March 21 until May 20.

June
Tuscany, Italy
Tuscany is one of my favorite regions in Italy, because it has everything: sea, hills, historic sites, and the food and wines are spectacular! June, with long days and mild temperatures, is the ideal month for rural tourism, to discover the beautiful Tuscan countryside and historic towns and escapades to the untouched beaches of Maremma, in the southern part of the region. You are going to love it!

July
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona is the perfect place to go during the summer (especially when you come from a cold place, like me)! The capital of Catalonia offers both a beautiful city and beaches. You can enjoy breathtaking architecture and delicious food, like tapas and cava (typical sparkling wine). What are you waiting for?

August
Brussels, Belgium
In August, Brussels has its famous Carpet of Flowers on display and it quite frankly cannot be missed! The beautiful floral “carpet” covers 1,800 m² and is located in the center of the Grand Place.

September
Munich, Germany
Even if it’s called “October” Festival, Germany’s world-famous beer festival is celebrated every year during the last week of September. My recommendation is to try the Brezel (pretzel), a doughy baked bread in the form of a knot.

October
New York, New York (United States)
Any time of the year is always a good time to visit and take a stroll through the Big Apple, but the fall is ideal. The temperature isn’t too cold or too hot and the leaves on the trees make a perfect frame for the many pictures you’re sure to take.

November
Turkey
November is the perfect time to visit Turkey because the weather has cooled off compared to summer and there are less tourists, making it easier to take advantage of what the magnificent country has to offer. The food, culture, and beautiful landscapes will surprise you. There are many parts of Turkey to visit, if you have never been you may want to start with the classic route Istanbul – Cappadocia.

December
Lapland, Finland
Spend christmas in Santa’s village. Enjoy a white christmas, have the opportunity to see an aurora borealis, go on a husky sleigh rides. It’ll be a Christmas you won’t forget!

And the 13th destination for 2013:
Tokyo, Japan
There are many reasons to visit Tokyo, but if you’re a sushi lover then Tokyo is a great place to travel to. As the seat of the Royal Family you can visit the Imperial Palace, explore the beautiful gardens, and when you’re done with soaking up the Japanese capital’s history there are many modern districts which are great for electronics shopping, entertainment and fun.
